Lee Byung-hun is lending his voice to the audio guide for “From Impressionism to Early Modernism: Collectors of Light,” a special exhibition co-presented by the National Museum of Korea and New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The exhibition showcases 81 works from the Met’s renowned Robert Lehman Collection, with 65 pieces making their first-ever loan outside the museum ― and debuting in Seoul.

Fresh off captivating global audiences as the villain “Gui-Ma” in this year’s Netflix film "KPop Demon Hunters," Lee now brings that commanding presence to the gallery, guiding visitors through the art with an immersive narration.

For the audio guide, he personally introduces 30 key works ― including Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s “Girls at the Piano” and Vincent Van Gogh’s “Orchard in Blossom” ― enhancing the experience with his signature calm, resonant baritone. In the studio, he fine-tuned every line and articulation himself. Producers praised his delivery as “so precise it draws a gasp with a single line” and “polished on the level of a professional voice actor.”

Built over two generations by Philip and Robert Lehman, the Robert Lehman Collection is celebrated for its depth in French art from Impressionism onward. Reframed for Korean audiences, the show traces how Impressionist experimentation paved the way for early modernism.

“From Impressionism to Early Modernism: Collectors of Light” runs through March 15, 2025, at Special Exhibition Gallery 1 of the National Museum of Korea.
