The Dec. 2 live broadcast at 9 p.m. KST will determine the champion, and finalists Lee Ji-hoon, Hong Seung-min, Song Ji-woo, Cheon Beom-seok, Lee Ye-ji and Choi Eun-bin opened up about their mindset heading into the last showdown.
After leading the semifinals with the most votes, Lee Ji-hoon called the moment “surreal” and admitted the pressure is real. He’s aiming to top his previous praise with a performance that connects the story he began in the semis to the finale―and, like in Round 1, he plans to take the stage with his guitar.
“I treated every round like it might be my last, so I never imagined I’d make the finale,” said Hong Seung-min. “As the weeks went on, the pressure grew―but being named to the Top 6 feels like a gift.” He added that the show helped him find his lane as an artist: “Now I’m practicing with total focus on my own story and emotions. I’m going to pour everything out so listeners lean in.”
For Song Ji-woo, it’s less about the trophy and more about leaving nothing on the table. “I want to show the absolute best I can right now,” she said, noting she’s been studying the natural texture of her voice and keeping the emotion honest, not overdone. Her wish for the finale? To hear that her signature color has become even clearer from the show’s “Top Ears” panel.
Cheon Beom-seok, who prioritizes delivering the music he truly wants to make, said he’s preparing so viewers walk away feeling they saw something special. In the finale, he’ll sit at the keys to present the most “him” performance yet. “I’ve expressed this stage in my own style,” he teased. “I’d love to hear that people are excited to see the kind of musician I become.”
“I didn’t even think Top 6 was in the cards, so getting ready for the finale doesn’t feel real,” admitted Lee Ye-ji. “But since I’m here, I want to go for No. 1.” After focusing on pure emotion in earlier rounds, she’s preparing this one with a simple goal: to enjoy every second onstage. She’s especially curious to hear feedback from Crush, who leads the show’s “Top Ears” panel.
Choi Eun-bin is centering gratitude. “I’m thankful I get to be onstage and keep singing,” she said. “I used to be too nervous to enjoy it, but in this last round I want to have fun and sing comfortably. I’m going to give the finale everything I’ve got.” She hopes to hear her sister’s unfiltered thoughts―and one day receive feedback from her role model, Sohyang.
The Top 6 are in full-on prep mode before the live finale of "The Ballad of Us", airing Dec. 2 at 9 p.m. KST on SBS. Pre-voting on the LiNC app is open until Dec. 1 at 11:59 p.m. KST.
