Slated to premiere in 2026 on SBS’ Friday-Saturday lineup, the series follows a seemingly ordinary family man who shatters a closely guarded secret to find his missing daughter ― and bets everything to bring her home.
Adapted from the hit Naver Webtoon "Manager Kim", the drama unfolds in a shared universe linked to smash webtoons like "Lookism" and "Viral Hit." The script comes from Nam Dae-jung ("The Last Ride," "Love Reset," "The First Ride"), with Lee Seung-young ("Wonderful World," "Tracer," "Voice 2") and Lee So-eun directing, a creative trio drawing early buzz.
Together, the leads promise a “new-school dad universe” where high-octane action, breezy bromance and heart-on-sleeve fatherhood collide.
So Ji-sub takes on "Manager Kim", Min-ji’s dad ― a mild-mannered employee at a small savings bank who once operated as a clandestine inter-Korean agent. After countless covert missions, he’s No. 1 on North Korea’s most-wanted list and a ticking time bomb whose existence can’t be exposed in the South. Expect So to deliver a career-defining turn that fuses razor-sharp action with gut-punching paternal instinct.
Choi Dae-hoon, fresh off his breakout in "When Life Gives You Tangerines," transforms into Sung Han-soo, Tae-hoon’s dad and a taekwondo gold medalist whose signature is a 1440-degree kick. In retirement, he hides his past as a secret agent by running a neighborhood dojang for kids ― a textbook “secretly strong” character poised to leave another indelible impression.
Yoon Kyung-ho plays Park Jin-cheol, Da-bin’s dad ― once a near-mythic force on the battlefield, now a proud girl dad who considers that title his greatest honor. With a mix of approachability and command, Yoon is set to swing the show’s emotional pendulum with scene-stealing energy.
The production notes, “Arriving in 2026 as SBS’ new Friday-Saturday series, "Manager Kim" locks in a fan-favorite leading trio with So Ji-sub, Choi Dae-hoon and Yoon Kyung-ho. Look forward to a dream-team combo that will grab viewers by the eyes and ears.”
