Jang Ki-yong Saves Ahn Eun-jin; Dynamic Kiss' Hits Series High, Peaks at 7.8%
Kiss for No Reason
SBS’s Wednesday-Thursday rom-com "Dynamic Kiss" keeps climbing. According to Nielsen Korea, Episode 4, which aired Thursday night, scored 6.5% in the Seoul metropolitan area and 6.3% nationwide―another series high. It led its time slot across all networks and ranked No. 1 among weekday miniseries. The episode’s peak minute spiked to 7.8%, while the 20?49 key demo hit a peak of 2.29%, topping all Thursday broadcasts and signaling major buzz.

The latest episode doubled down on misunderstandings and swoons as Gong Ji-hyuk (Jang Ki-yong) spectacularly misread Go Da-rim (Ahn Eun-jin) as a married mom―and still couldn’t shake his feelings. When Da-rim landed in real danger, Ji-hyuk made a movie-worthy entrance to pull her out, capping the hour with a hero moment that had viewers cheering.

Earlier, Ji-hyuk tossed a hard-won report from Da-rim and the “Mother TF” task force into a swimming pool. Even though she can’t swim, Da-rim dove in, started flailing, and Ji-hyuk jumped after her. Their underwater eye contact―pressed close, breathless―was pure heart-stopper.

From there, Ji-hyuk’s gruff-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside side kicked in. He coolly marked up her report with useful notes, then bundled the soaked Da-rim into his car, draped a jacket over her, and cranked the heat. When loan sharks showed up, he grabbed her hand and ran. Sparks were flying―until Da-rim’s “fake husband,” Kim Sun-woo (Kim Moo-jun), crashed the moment and flipped the vibe on its head.

A hospital run for his mother brought Ji-hyuk face-to-face with Da-rim and her mom, and he finally understood why Da-rim is desperate to keep her job. “Let’s not bring that up again―I’ll forget it,” he said, ultimately accepting her onto the Mother TF team. Da-rim told herself it was a relief he’d “forget the kiss,” but the emptiness said otherwise.

Work threw them together again at a live-commerce event, where an accidental onstage kiss set off fresh fireworks. Ji-hyuk later tracked down a missed giveaway for Da-rim and stepped between her and a scolding manager: “She’s on my team. If there’s blame, it’s mine―and so is the responsibility.” Try as he might, his soft spot for Da-rim keeps slipping out, and viewers are loving it.

Then came the cliffhanger: Da-rim was abducted by loan sharks demanding she repay her missing brother’s debt. Tied up and threatened, she looked doomed―until Ji-hyuk cut through the darkness like a superhero. Flashing a black card and a killer grin, he coolly offered, “I’ll buy it. How much? Do you take cards?” The shot of Ji-hyuk’s gleaming smile, the black card, and Da-rim’s shock closed the episode on a high.

Episode 4 bottled the fizzy thrill of a modern rom-com, charting two people who fell for each other after a “force-of-nature” kiss only to become reluctant enemies―yet can’t stop getting pulled back in. Jang Ki-yong and Ahn Eun-jin’s playful, ever-sparklier chemistry continues to shine with each episode.

"Dynamic Kiss" airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9 p.m. KST.
