Per Nielsen Korea on the 20th, the latest episode drew 5.6% in the Seoul capital region and 5.3% nationwide, marking a series high and ranking No. 1 among weekday dramas across all channels. The peak minute soared to 6.8%, with the key 20-49 demo hitting a 2.04% high. Consider the buzz officially ignited.
After a world-stopping kiss, would-be lovers Gong Ji-hyeok (Jang) and Go Da-rim (Ahn) ran into each other again―this time as team leader and new hire. The once-unflappable Ji-hyeok spiraled into a string of clumsy, laugh-out-loud moves, while an ending stare-down between the two had hearts in throats.
Da-rim pushed past her interview trauma to apply for the Mother TF Team at a baby-products company, unaware Ji-hyeok had just stepped out as one of the interviewers. Disguising herself as a mom to land the gig, she ultimately got the six-month task-force position.
Her first day, though, went off the rails: her Jeju vacation fling turned out to be her boss. Convinced Da-rim is a married mother, Ji-hyeok demanded her resignation. Determined to hold on for her ailing mom, Da-rim decided to tough it out.
Ji-hyeok then set a brutal test―an overnight experiment that would run five straight nights, all on Da-rim. Still, he couldn’t stop worrying. When her report ran late, he rushed over at dawn intending to catch her slipping and fire her, only to find no Da-rim in sight―and a blaze raging at the lab.
Thinking she was in danger, he was ready to charge into the flames when Da-rim appeared. Instinct took over: he pulled her into a hug with a relieved “Thank God,” before snapping back to his icy facade. Da-rim then spotted a four-leaf clover charm on his phone―the very one she’d given him in Jeju. The next day, Ji-hyeok didn’t show up to work.
At the office, rumors swirled that Ji-hyeok is the chairman’s son and the Mother TF Team will be dissolved in six months. Da-rim rallied the demoralized crew and finished the experiment. When she brought the all-nighter report to Ji-hyeok, he stayed frigid―even after she dropped to her knees―and scattered the pages into a swimming pool.
Da-rim can’t swim, but she dove in anyway. As she began to struggle, Ji-hyeok leapt into the water and pulled her to safety―rescuing her yet again. In his arms, their eyes met, and even with both pretending otherwise, the feelings were unmistakable. It was a cliffhanger that landed like a jolt.
With Ji-hyeok’s hapless romance now in full swing, Jang and Ahn keep the tempo brisk and charming―Jang letting flashes of tenderness slip through a prickly exterior, Ahn grounding Da-rim with grit and warmth. Sixty dopamine-charged minutes of swoons and laughs.
