The controversy over actor Lee Yi-kyung (36) keeps shifting, with the accuser identified only as “A” seeing their X account disappear again on Nov. 19 ― fueling even more confusion.
As of Tuesday afternoon, A’s X profile returns the message “This account doesn’t exist.” Just hours earlier, A posted a “final statement,” insisting the “evidence wasn’t AI-fabricated ― it was real,” before the account abruptly vanished. It’s unclear whether the account was deleted by the user or removed by the platform.
Lee’s agency, Sangyoung ENT, said the same day it has filed a criminal complaint against A for blackmail and for defamation under Korea’s Information and Communications Network Act. The company stated it submitted the complaint on Nov. 3 and has completed the complainant interview, adding that confirming the suspect’s identity could take time. The agency vowed zero tolerance, promising aggressive legal action “at home and abroad.”
Online, reactions remain split: Some say it’s still murky whether the claims are legitimate or AI-generated fakes. The confusion deepened after A wrote, “I lied because I was scared,” while also asserting, “I never used AI, and the evidence I posted was all real.”
It’s not the first time A has reversed course. After the initial post, A deleted it and apologized, calling it “an AI-made prank,” only to later retract that and claim “it wasn’t AI,” escalating the drama.
Sangyoung ENT reiterated it will continue to pursue strong legal measures without leniency.
