'Veiled Musician' Hits Netflix, Rolls Out Across 9 Countries
Veiled Musician
The voice-first competition series "Veiled Musician" drops Nov. 12 on Netflix, promising a supersized, pan-Asian rollout and a judging twist that puts nothing but the vocals front and center.

Kicking off with the Korea edition, "Veiled Musician" will unfold across nine countries―Japan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Mongolia, Laos and Indonesia, alongside Korea―running simultaneous local battles to crown each territory’s Top 3. Finalists arriving in their respective national finals are billed as pro-caliber vocalists, setting a bar far beyond your average audition show.

All country Top 3 finalists convene in January on SBS for the "Veiled Cup", a first-of-its-kind international vocal showdown to name the ultimate champion. Beyond a TV competition, the franchise aims to double as a platform for cross-border music exchange.

# A Pan-Asian Rollout with Supersized Scale

Staged in nine Asian markets at once, "Veiled Musician" narrows each country’s field to a Top 3 through high-stakes survival rounds. Expect polished, performance-ready singers throughout―contestants who could pass for established pros and deliver a level of quality rarely seen in standard audition fare.

Those Top 3 artists from each country will meet on SBS’ "Veiled Cup" in January to determine the true vocal powerhouse. Think a World Cup for voices―only this time, bragging rights span the entire region.

# Voice Only. The Fairest Audition Around

This format strips away everything but the sound. Singers perform behind a veil with only their silhouette visible, and conversation before and after the stage is kept to a minimum. Only eliminated contestants may choose to reveal their faces. Even a well-known artist could pass through the competition without their identity being discovered. It’s a return to musical essentials―and one of the fairest setups you’ll find in the genre.

The "Veiled Musician" winner earns a management deal opportunity with Dreamus Company, while the "Veiled Cup" champion scores an Asia tour, a slot on SBS’ Inkigayo and a K-drama OST feature.

# Heavy-Hitter Panel, High-Emotion Moments

Actor and variety favorite Daniel Choi hosts, with emotive balladeer Paul Kim and elite vocalists Ailee and Shin Yong-jae serving as judges and mentors. MONSTA X’s powerhouse main vocalist KIHYUN, BOL4―famed for their singular tone―and BELLE of KISS OF LIFE, once dubbed a “19-year-old prodigy composer,” add fresh firepower to the lineup.

"Veiled Musician" is produced by SBS Prism Studio, planned by Kanvas and partnered officially with Spotify. New episodes stream Wednesdays for eight weeks on Netflix starting Nov. 12, with the "Veiled Cup" slated for SBS in January.
