SBS’s Friday-Saturday rom-com "Would You Marry Me" is cranking up the angst, with a sudden chill creeping into the budding romance between Choi Woo-shik and Jung So-min.
The series follows two near-strangers who stage a 90-day newlywed act to hold onto a luxury newlywed home giveaway ― a high-concept setup that’s powered by Choi and Jung’s fizzy chemistry and brisk, dopamine-spiking pacing.
Episode 8 had viewers grinning as Kim Woo-joo (Choi Woo-shik) and Yoo Me-ri (Jung So-min) finally confessed their feelings and made it official. But the tension spiked when Me-ri’s ex-fiance ― also named Kim Woo-joo (Seo Beom-jun) ― learned their marriage is a sham and came knocking, hinting at major turbulence ahead.
Now, newly released stills from Nov. 6 tease a picnic date that doesn’t go as planned. Woo-joo shows up prepared, from packed lunchboxes to snacks, and flashes his signature puppy-dog charm as he gently places his hand over Me-ri’s.
Me-ri, though, seems uncharacteristically distant. She avoids his gaze and ultimately pulls her hand away, signaling trouble on the love front. Another shot leaves Woo-joo sitting alone in the park, begging the question: What went wrong on their first picnic date?
How this curveball hits their sweet-but-fragile romance ― and how the pair fights through it ― will be revealed in Episode 9, airing Friday, Nov. 7 at 9:50 p.m. KST on SBS.
"Would You Marry Me" airs Fridays and Saturdays at 9:50 p.m. KST.
