Can 'World Class' Jai Beat 'Gucheok Jangshin' Heo Kyung-hee? 'Kick a Goal' Kicks Off GIFA Cup Semis

SBS's "Kick a Goal" is opening the GIFA Cup semifinals with a heavyweight showdown.

Airing Nov. 5, the episode pits FC Gucheok Jangshin against FC World Class for a ticket to the final. Gucheok Jangshin snapped its can't-win curse with a clean-sheet victory over FC Balladream to book a semifinal berth, while World Class, despite a loss, advanced on goals scored after netting four. All eyes are on whether the competition's most decorated club, World Class, can knock off G League champions Gucheok Jangshin to punch its way into the title match.

It's the show's ultimate offense-versus-defense clash: Gucheok Jangshin's No. 1 goalkeeper Heo Kyung-hee facing World Class's 'Emperor,' Jai. The two locked in from warm-ups, sizing each other up and cranking up the tension before kickoff.

Starting up top, Jai threw down a challenge: 'I want to put one past Heo Kyung-hee.' Heo answered coolly, 'Jai's shots aren't beyond saving.' The question now: can Jai's firepower finally crack Heo's fortress?

Also making waves is head coach Kim Byung-ji's surprise tactic for World Class. With Kathy not fit to go the full 40, he slid forward Naty into goal, promising a bold, build-from-the-back, attack-first game plan. 'We'll unveil an all-out attacking style with keeper Naty at the heart of our buildup,' he teased. Naty added, 'I'm still getting used to being in goal, but the buildup came naturally.'

Once the whistle blew, Naty stepped high as a sweeper-keeper and jumped into the attack, much to her coach's delight. Now it's a waiting game to see whether Kim's gamble pays off.

The GIFA Cup semifinal―featuring the Heo vs. Jai duel and World Class's audacious lineup twist―airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. KST on "Kick a Goal".
