SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama "Taxi Driver 3", based on the original webtoon, follows the shadowy taxi outfit Rainbow Transport and driver Kim Do-gi (Lee Je-hoon) as they deliver vigilante justice for victims failed by the system. Earlier seasons notched a peak 21% nationwide rating―No. 5 among all Korean broadcast and cable dramas since 2023―and took Best Drama Series at the 28th Asian Television Awards, fueling sky-high anticipation for the latest chapter.
Pyo, who cemented a career-defining role as Rainbow’s resident genius hacker Go-eun, shared how it feels to have the full team back for Season 3. “Ever since Season 2 wrapped, people kept asking about the next chapter. I’ve really felt all the love for 'Taxi Driver'. In a time overflowing with content, I’m just grateful we could keep the series going,” she says. “I’m even happier that every member of Rainbow Transport is back to greet viewers together.”
She also hopes the show can be a lift in tough times. “Real life can feel like an endless stream of incidents and tragedies, and that’s heartbreaking. If watching 'Taxi Driver' lets you breathe for a moment, feel some catharsis, and believe in a better tomorrow, I’m thankful. It now feels like viewers cheer on Rainbow no matter what we take on, and that makes filming even more reassuring. Truly, thank you.”
Back after two years, Pyo hints at an upgraded Go-eun this season. “With a director and writer I trust completely―and our team―I had no worries,” she says. “For Season 3, I thought about how to show Go-eun’s reliability. She’s still the teammate who clicks with everyone, but now she anticipates, prepares, and clears the path before anyone asks. And yes, expect sleeker action and bigger plays from her.”
Above all, she beams about reuniting with the “Rainbow Five”―Lee Je-hoon (Kim Do-gi), Kim Eui-sung (CEO Jang), Jang Hyuk-jin (Chief Choi), and Bae Yoo-ram (Chief Park). “When we shoot those basement briefing scenes with all five, the chemistry is electric. Even without long discussions or rehearsals, our rhythm is so good. It’s reassuring and a joy to build out the scenes together,” she says, teasing even bigger team synergy in Season 3.
As for the fan-favorite Do-gi-Go-eun dynamic―equal parts camaraderie and slow-burn spark―Pyo shares, “Thank you for loving their relationship. To Go-eun, Do-gi is still the person she trusts most. You’ll keep seeing them closest to each other, quietly giving strength―maybe even more than before.”
Pyo also highlights the season’s must-see elements. “The scale is much bigger than before, and each episode brings fantastic guest actors, so the stories feel richer,” she notes. “As a fan of our pedal-to-the-metal car chases, I’m thrilled―we’ve leveled up the set pieces this season. I can’t wait for you to see all the different action beats "Taxi Driver 3" has in store.”
She closes with a thank-you to longtime fans: “Everyone’s doing their absolute best to repay your patience. Spend your Fridays and Saturdays with us. No. 5283 is about to roll!”
Billed as the blueprint of the K-caper genre, SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama "Taxi Driver 3" is set to premiere later this month, following "Would You Marry Me".
