The 28-year-old actor is slated to serve for about 18 months beginning Dec. 15, the company confirmed.
Given that enlistment ceremonies involve many service members and families, the agency said it will not disclose the location or time and respectfully asked fans and media to refrain from visiting on the day.
The statement added thanks for fans’ continued support and asked for encouragement until Yeo completes his duty and returns in good health, “more mature than before.”
Born in 1997, Yeo recently shared the news himself via a handwritten letter at a fan meeting, writing, “While we’re apart, I’ll come back stronger and more mature. I’ll return healthy in body and mind and stand before you with even deeper acting.”
To mark his 20th debut anniversary this year, Yeo staged a special Asia fan meeting tour, "BLANKSPACE," greeting fans in Jakarta, Tokyo, Osaka, Chengdu, Shanghai and Taipei. He wrapped the run with a Seoul stop on the 1st.
