Cha, who enlisted on July 28 and is currently a private with the Republic of Korea Army’s Ministry of National Defense Service Support Group, was seen in Gyeongju assisting with events tied to the 2025 APEC summit. Photos and clips that surfaced online on Oct. 30 captured the K-pop favorite on duty at the venue.
Even with a cap pulled low, his chiseled features and runway proportions were hard to miss. The sight of a global idol working the APEC floor as part of the support staff naturally sparked buzz among attendees and on social media.
Fans at home and abroad marveled, posting reactions like, “I’d recognize him even under a cap,” “Still impossibly handsome,” and “Didn’t know a uniform could fit like that.”
Meanwhile, his pre-enlistment film First Ride opened in Korea on Oct. 29 and debuted at No. 1 at the local box office. The movie drew 34,129 admissions on Oct. 30, bringing its cumulative total to 138,062.
Cha distinguished himself during basic training, serving as a trainee leader and representing his cohort at the graduation ceremony. He is currently assigned to the Army band within the MND Service Support Group.
