With his active-duty enlistment set for December, NCT’s DOYOUNG has made another generous donation.
On the 31st, the international relief and development NGO World Vision announced that DOYOUNG contributed 100 million won to improve educational conditions for children. He made the gift as a thank-you to fans after wrapping a tour that began in Seoul in June and spanned major cities across Asia, followed by his October encore show, “2025 DOYOUNG ENCORE CONCERT [Yours].”
The funds will go toward building a school and upgrading educational infrastructure in Bugondo Village, Mayuge, Uganda. The project aims to provide safe, comfortable classrooms for students struggling in poor learning environments, with an estimated 1,000 children expected to benefit.
“As I finish my second tour, I’m grateful to give back even a little to fans around the world,” DOYOUNG said. “I hope this new school becomes a starting point where kids can grow their dreams.”
“We sincerely appreciate DOYOUNG’s heartfelt support for children,” said Cho Myung-hwan, chairman of World Vision. “Through this project, we’ll do our best to ensure many kids in Bugondo can keep learning in better conditions and fully pursue their dreams.”
DOYOUNG has consistently supported charitable causes, with his fandom often joining in to amplify the impact. As news of his latest donation coincides with his upcoming enlistment, a past interview explaining why he gives has resurfaced. “I was fortunate to start earning at a young age, and I wanted to pay it forward whenever I could. Fans are people I should always give back to, and for others I thought about what form that gratitude could take―that’s how I began donating. I don’t want to let down the people who love me,” he said.
