The Korean indie film 'The World of Love' has crossed 30,000 admissions nationwide and is now climbing the box office chart.

According to the Korean Film Council’s box office tracker, the film drew 3,990 moviegoers on Monday, Oct. 27―its second Monday in theaters―landing at No. 7 nationwide.

After holding at No. 9 through opening weekend, 'The World of Love' inched up the rankings in week two. With 30,000 admissions in just five days, it now has a credible shot at cracking 100,000 if momentum holds.

Word of mouth is doing the heavy lifting. Beyond audience raves calling it “the best film of the year,” the movie has earned vocal endorsements from filmmakers and stars including Koreeda Hirokazu, Kim Hye-soo, Kim Tae-ri, Kim Eui-sung, Bae Sung-woo, Ryu Hyun-kyung, Go Ah-sung and Park Jung-min―buzz that’s likely to convince casual moviegoers it’s a must-see.

'The World of Love' follows Ju-in, an inscrutable 18-year-old high schooler who refuses to sign a petition backed by the entire student body―and soon starts receiving cryptic notes that upend her world. The film marks director Yoon Ga-eun’s third feature, following "The World of Us" and "The House of Us."
