"Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc" kept its grip on the Korean box office, topping the weekend chart for a third straight frame.
Per the Korean Film Council’s KOBIS database, the film drew 219,691 admissions nationwide from Sept. 24?26, lifting its cume to 2,550,237.
Based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s smash-hit manga, the feature centers on Denji―who becomes Chainsaw Man after a pact with the chainsaw devil Pochita―and his explosive encounter with the mysterious Reze. The Reze Arc, a fan-favorite storyline, comes to the big screen after the manga surpassed 30 million copies in circulation worldwide.
Landing at No. 2 over the same period was Japanese thriller Exit 8, which sold 137,173 tickets.
With Japanese titles locking up the top two spots, J-content’s hot streak at Korea’s box office shows no signs of cooling. All eyes are on whether homegrown release "The First Ride," opening Oct. 29, can shift the momentum.
