Yoo Jae-suk Unearths Hidden Gold Stash Bare-Handed on 'Running Man' ― Then Shares the Spoils

Yoo Jae-suk struck gold ― literally ― on SBS’s "Running Man."

On the Oct. 19 episode, guests Yang Se-hyung and Jeon So-min teamed with the cast for a “Finders Keepers: Gold Hunters” race, scouring a muddy tidal flat for hidden coins.

Before the main mission kicked off, the crew welcomed Yang Se-chan’s big brother, Yang Se-hyung, and show alum Jeon So-min.

The premise was simple: 50 gold coins were stashed around the site, and the twist was pure adrenaline ― you keep whatever you find. Clearing mini-missions unlocked search gear to make the hunt easier.

In the first challenge, players had to accept quirky conditions set by the opposing team to score. Trying to satisfy a “kissed within the week” rule, Yoo joked, “Does a half-kiss count? Maybe just a peck?” The rivals shut him down: “Nope. Full kiss or nothing,” prompting big laughs.

Between missions, everyone kept combing for treasure, but the search was tougher than it looked. Then came a game-changer: the realization that a large stash was hidden in one spot ― and a trail of clues to find it.

Clue 1 was a scent hint ― think shellfish. Clue 2 was an audio tease of clattering. Clue 3 was a photo of something red and plastic.

Armed with hints, the hunt intensified. Yoo spotted brothers Yang Se-hyung and Yang Se-chan sticking together despite being on different teams and quipped, “Why are you two glued together?” The brothers laughed it off: “Mom always said if one of us gets picked on, we go in together. We’re kkanbu ― ride-or-die.”

With all three clues, Kim Jong-kook and Yoo closed in on the answer. Moments later, a shout rang out: the gold had been found, ending the race.

The winner? Yoo Jae-suk ― and he did it bare-handed. He discovered a room stacked with tubs of shells sealed with red plastic lids and, checking them one by one, uncovered a hefty cache of coins.

True to form, Yoo split the haul with his teammates, turning the moment into a feel-good finish. Jeon So-min celebrated with a cheeky old-school gag that drew more laughs.

Those who missed out ― Kim Jong-kook, Song Ji-hyo, Choi Daniel, and HAHA ― paid the price with a penalty of forward rolls across the mudflat.
