On the October 12 episode of SBS’s "Running Man", the cast dove into a “middle-only world” race, where the player holding the median amount of seed money at the end takes the win.
Producers split the players into two squads: Kim Jong-kook, HAHA, Song Ji-hyo, Choi Daniel, Byun Yo-han, and Kim Kang-woo on one side; Yoo Jae-suk, Ji Suk-jin, Yang Se-chan, Yang Se-jong, and Bang Hyo-rin on the other.
Sizing up Yang Se-jong and Bang Hyo-rin across the way, Yoo Jae-suk and Yang Se-chan cracked, “That team looks pretty delicate―feels like we could steer them.”
HAHA piled on, pointing at Bang Hyo-rin: “Ask her to hand over the cash and she just might,” sending everyone into laughs.
Before the first mission―where the team with the right answer earned a power-up―Kim Kang-woo, a dad of two boys, was asked when he most wants alone time. “During school breaks,” he admitted, and the married members nodded in solidarity.
“My boys are in eighth and sixth grade,” he added. “The older one is past the peak of puberty, and now it’s the sixth grader’s turn.”
When asked if his teen holes up in his room, Kim Kang-woo laughed, “He’s the opposite―always parked in the living room, full-on teenage attitude, complaining nonstop. I’m like, ‘Please, just go back to your room.’” The candid dad talk had the cast cracking up.
He joked that with no personal space at home, he sometimes escapes to the library, drawing sympathetic groans.
Later, when asked which member he least wanted to team up with, Byun Yo-han hesitated: “How am I supposed to judge that?” Ji Seok-jin offered, “If you can’t say it, just gaze at them.” Byun Yo-han slowly turned and gave Ji Seok-jin a lingering look, and Ji fired back, “I’ve never seen anyone act ‘a lingering gaze’ that well―only an actor could pull that off,” keeping the mood playful.
The guests’ competitive streaks soon surprised the regulars, and Byun Yo-han helped Kim Jong-kook’s team clinch the win.
In a final twist, Bang Hyo-rin used a last-chance perk to add 100 million won to fellow median-holder Ji Seok-jin, catapulting him into first place and shocking the room.
A teaser at the end promised next week’s “Finders Keepers: Gold Hunters” race with guests Jeon So-min and Yang Se-hyung. Jeon, determined to “make money” in character, quickly turned into a paper doll in the wind, while Yang Se-chan seemed disarmed by the arrival of his big brother―setting the stage for a can’t-miss episode.
