'Boss' (directed by Ra Hee-chan) has topped the Korean box office for seven straight days and broke even just one week after release.

According to the Korean Film Council’s (KOFIC) box office database on Oct. 10, the film drew 174,277 moviegoers nationwide on Oct. 9, holding the No. 1 spot. Its cumulative admissions now stand at 1,729,426.

A comic action caper, 'Boss' follows a motley crew inside an organization who will do anything to avoid becoming the next boss as a leadership vote that could decide the group’s future looms. Since opening on Oct. 3, the film has led the daily charts, emerging as the holiday’s big winner.

It pulled roughly 240,000 admissions on day one, marking the strongest October opening for a Korean title since the pandemic.

On Chuseok day (Oct. 6), it posted a leading 40.4% seat occupancy rate, and it surpassed 1 million admissions by day five―outpacing 'Love Reset,' starring Kang Ha-neul and Jung So-min, for the fastest post-pandemic October Korean release to hit the milestone.

'Boss' is now playing in theaters across Korea.
