SBS has dropped a first look at the inaugural table read for its new rom-com "Dynamite Kiss", led by Jang Ki-yong and Ahn Eun-jin.

Premiering Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 9 p.m. KST, the Wednesday-Thursday drama "Dynamite Kiss" (written by Ha Yoon-a and Tae Kyung-min; directed by Kim Jae-hyun) follows a single woman who fakes being a married mom to land a job―and the team manager who falls for her, kicking off a secret-crush slow burn. With Jang Ki-yong (as Gong Ji-hyeok) and Ahn Eun-jin (as Go Da-rim) anchoring the series, SBS is eyeing a comeback for its weeknight romance craze.

At the Oct. 2 table read, the energy was palpable. Director Kim Jae-hyun, writers Ha Yoon-a and Tae Kyung-min, and key cast―including Kim Moo-joon (Kim Sun-woo) and Woo Da-bi (Yoo Ha-young)―packed the room, as the breezy, charming script and committed performances turned the session into a feel-good kickoff.

Jang Ki-yong set the tone as a bona fide heart-stealer. His Gong Ji-hyeok doesn’t believe in love―until a kiss with Go Da-rim hits like a bolt of lightning and leaves him reeling. Sliding effortlessly between cool and warm, Jang dialed up the character’s lethal appeal with a baritone voice and laser-focused gaze that made the room swoon.

Ahn Eun-jin brought sunny, irresistible spark to Go Da-rim, a plucky job seeker who masquerades as a married mom to make ends meet. Even while juggling hustle culture and a love that arrives out of nowhere, Ahn plays Da-rim as someone who meets life head-on―an everywoman viewers will root for as she chases both career and romance.

Most of all, the leads’ chemistry popped. As they traded lines in character, the pair went from zero to rom-com in seconds, selling that first-fall-in-love eye contact with ease. Hard to believe it’s their first pairing: from visuals to timing, their back-and-forth felt like a meet-cute in real time, teasing the flutters to come.

Kim Moo-joon and Woo Da-bi also made strong impressions. Kim inhabits single-dad best friend Kim Sun-woo―the laid-back yet quietly attentive “boy bestie” destined to stir up more butterflies―while Woo Da-bi promises to flip the spoiled chaebol trope on its head, injecting fresh momentum into the romance lines.

Rounding out the ensemble are Nam Gi-ae, Cha Mi-kyung, Choi Kwang-il, Seo Sang-won, Seo Jeong-yeon, Park Jin-woo, Park Ji-a, Jung Soo-young, Jung Ga-hee, Park Jung-yeon, and Shin Joo-hyeop, a stacked lineup poised to fill the drama with scene-stealing characters. Child actor Chae Ja-woon adds an extra dose of adorable, keeping the room in stitches throughout the read.

“It was a session that confirmed everyone’s rhythm and synergy,” the production team said. “'Dynamite Kiss' is a light, feel-good romantic comedy, and we’re excited to deliver plenty of upbeat energy. We hope viewers will look forward to it.”

"Dynamite Kiss" premieres Nov. 12 at 9 p.m. KST on SBS.
