The episode gave viewers a closer look at the pair’s everyday life ― including their very different love languages. Jung showered Cho with affection, while Cho, shy about PDA, kept dodging her hugs.
MC Seo Jang-hoon chimed in, noting their “difference in expression” and how upbringing plays a role: Jung grew up openly affectionate, while Cho’s years in group settings made big displays feel awkward.
After a bit of couples counseling to fine-tune their communication, the two invited Cho’s mother to their home for the first time since the wedding.
Seeing his mom again, Cho turned tender, while Jung, understandably a bit nervous, tried to shake off the awkwardness.
Jung took the lead, chatting nonstop to warm up the room. “I made food so we could all eat together and talk,” she told her mother-in-law, setting a cozy tone for the visit.
Cho’s mother admitted she’d missed them both ― especially her daughter-in-law ― and didn’t hide how happy she was to be there.
She then surprised Jung with a gift she’d prepared long ago for the day she’d have a daughter-in-law, handing it over the moment she arrived.
Jung couldn’t hide her joy, later appearing in the studio wearing the necklace she’d received.
Dressed in elegant hanbok, the couple offered deep bows to their parents. Fighting back tears, Cho told his mother, “Please stay healthy. Thank you for giving birth to me,” moving her to the verge of sobbing.
He promised to take great care of his in-laws, too. When asked if she had anything to add, Jung quipped, “You know you’re thriving because of me,” cracking up the room.
The families then shared mandu soup prepared by Jung’s mother. Though Cho and his mom once lived in the same facility, they’d rarely sat down for meals together; seeing him quietly dote on her made for a heartwarming moment.
Afterward, Cho and his mother remembered his late father, who passed away from liver cancer when Cho was in middle school. “He died at home,” she recalled softly, sharing how he struggled without proper hospital care.
She added that after the funeral, she returned to find the food spoiled and “cried so much,” missing her husband deeply.
They also reminisced about the old days when Cho’s father would pull his wife and son around town on a handcart ― a simple memory that brought their family history rushing back.
