The Japanese anime feature "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba ― Infinity Castle" has crossed 5 million admissions in South Korea just 39 days after release.
According to the Korean Film Council’s box office tracker, as of 12:00 a.m. on the 29th the film has drawn 5,001,954 moviegoers. That blistering pace outstrips "Suzume," which took 52 days to hit the 5 million mark (5.58 million total), and Brad Pitt’s racing drama "F1: The Movie," which needed 81 days (5.14 million total).
With this milestone, "Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle" has surpassed "The First Slam Dunk"’s 4.9 million final tally to claim No. 2 all-time among Japanese animated films in Korea ― now setting its sights on the top spot.
A newly released Nezuko character poster accompanied the news, capturing her earnest gaze and channeling the tension and emotion ahead of the climactic showdown.
Screenings are set to continue through the Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) holiday, and all eyes are on where the final numbers will land.
