"No Other Choice" claimed the No. 1 spot at the weekend box office.

According to the Korean Film Council’s (KOFIC) integrated box-office database, the film drew 609,280 moviegoers nationwide from Sept. 26?28, bringing its cumulative admissions to 1,073,656.

Released on Sept. 24, "No Other Choice" came out swinging with 330,000 tickets on opening day, held the top rank through the weekend, and crossed the one-million mark in just five days. With both ticketing share and advance sales leading the charts, it’s on track to carry that momentum into the Chuseok holiday window.

"No Other Choice" centers on Man-su (Lee Byung-hun), an office worker who thought he had it all―until he’s abruptly laid off. Determined to protect his wife, two children, and the hard-won family home, he gears up for a personal war to get rehired. The film is directed by Park Chan-wook and stars Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, and Yum Hye-ran.

Reception has been mixed since release, but the buzz remains strong and the box-office outlook is bright.
