"Tempest" follows renowned U.N. ambassador Mun-ju (Jun Ji-hyun), who hunts the mastermind behind an attack on a presidential candidate, and San-ho (Gang Dong-won), a stateless elite operative tasked with protecting her, as the pair confronts a truth powerful enough to shake the Korean Peninsula.
The newly released stills capture a nation on edge and a story that refuses to sit still. After risking everything to expose the drumbeat of war, Mun-ju and San-ho disappear off the grid. With no guarantee of a tomorrow, they steal a quiet moment for just the two of them. In one tender beat, San-ho confesses, “I was afraid you’d get hurt. I even held onto you in my dreams,” cranking up the slow-burn romance beneath the high-stakes thriller.
But as heavy hitters jockey for power, Mun-ju becomes a problem to be erased. A chilling call to President Kyung-shin (Kim Hae-sook) ― “Take care of Seo Mun-ju” ― raises the stakes. Soon, a calculated operation ensnares Mun-ju and San-ho in a scandal, hinting at fresh turbulence for their relationship. Adding fuel to the fire, Un-hak (Yoo Jae-myung) aims a loaded question at San-ho: “Was making her fall in love with you part of the plan?”
Meanwhile, Hanna (Won Ji-an) enjoys a serene tea time with Ok-seon (Lee Mi-sook), stoking curiosity over what she intends to do with the explosive secret she holds. Against a backdrop of mounting global tension, the steely resolve on Kyung-shin and Un-hak’s faces suggests the next wave of high-stakes moves is imminent.
"Tempest" drops Episodes 6-7 today and concludes with Episodes 8-9 on Oct. 1.
