Song’s mother passed away on the 21st at age 77. The funeral was held privately on the morning of the 23rd at Samsung Medical Center in Seoul. Song kept vigil with his older brother and sister, receiving mourners.
Within the industry, Song has long been known for his devotion to his parents. Close friend Shin Dong-yup once praised how lovingly he treated his mother. In the past, on Parents’ Day, Song posted his parents’ youthful photos, writing, “I’m happy to be your son. Please stay healthy and with us for a long time.”
