SBS has unveiled the powerhouse family set to run Myungsundang―billed as Korea’s first-ever bakery―alongside Choi Woo-shik in "Would You Marry Me".

Premiering Friday, Oct. 10, the new Friday-Saturday series from writer Lee Hana and directors Song Hyun-wook and Hwang In-hyuk follows two strangers who enter a 90-day fake newlywed arrangement to lock down a lavish newlywed-home grand prize. Rom-com MVPs Choi Woo-shik (as Kim Woo-joo) and Jung So-min (as Yoo Meri) team up for what’s shaping up to be a pitch-perfect chemistry match.

Choi plays Kim Woo-joo, the impeccably groomed fourth-generation pastry heir of Myungsundang―a born-and-bred bakery scion. The drama just introduced the relatives who’ll challenge and champion his path to the throne.

First up, Jung Ae-ri transforms into Ko Pil-nyeon, the iron-willed chairwoman of Myungsundang and Woo-joo’s grandmother. A self-made mogul who built Korea’s pioneering bakery, she summons Woo-joo back from the U.S. to groom him as successor. Her striking silver crop and glasses signal serious matriarch energy, setting the stage for a commanding presence―and electric grandmother-grandson dynamics with Choi.

Kim Young-min ("Queen of Tears," "Crash Landing on You") steps in as Jang Han-gu, Woo-joo’s uncle-in-law and a board director. As the top executive overseeing finance and HR, he enjoys sterling reviews in-house―but beneath the gentlemanly veneer lies a murkier agenda, injecting sharp suspense into the family business.

Baek Ji-won plays Kim Mi-yeon, Woo-joo’s freewheeling aunt who loudly pitches both her husband Han-gu and son Eung-su as viable heirs to Chairwoman Ko. When Woo-joo returns stateside-honed and ready, she frets that her son will be sidelined. After scene-stealing turns in "When Life Gives You Tangerines," Baek is primed to bring fizzy fun to the chaos.

Rounding out the clan, Go Geon-han―fresh off a standout stint in "Love Scout"―portrays Jang Eung-su, Woo-joo’s cousin and Myungsundang’s head of management. A serial project fumbler with a chip on his shoulder, Eung-su secretly crowns Woo-joo his personal rival, promising a comedic, brotherly spar over succession rights.

With Choi Woo-shik, Jung Ae-ri, Kim Young-min, Baek Ji-won and Go Geon-han anchoring the Myungsundang dynasty, expect a frothy blend of family intrigue, corporate chess moves and rom-com spark. Can Woo-joo cement his status as heir apparent―or will a full-on pastry power struggle erupt?

"Would You Marry Me" premieres Friday, Oct. 10 at 9:50 p.m. KST on SBS.
