Seo Dong-jin, who won over viewers with a 13-year love story on "EXchange 3", has officially debuted as a recording artist, releasing his first album and reclaiming a dream he once set aside. After reuniting with longtime partner Song Da-hye, the singer is drawing even more support as he turns the page to a new chapter.
On Sept. 18, Seo announced on social media that his album "Light Me UP" had arrived. "I first dreamed of becoming a singer at 17, and 17 years later I’m finally releasing music under my own name," he shared. Showcasing a clear tone and soaring high notes, the new track earned a shout-out from his partner Song Da-hye, who called it "so cool."
Seo and Song dated from 2010 to 2023. Just four months after their split, he joined "EXchange 3", where he revealed he had walked away from a potential debut years ago after their relationship became public during his trainee days―a confession that struck a chord with viewers.
While Song went on to debut with girl group BESTie and later as a soloist, Seo quietly supported her behind the scenes, even taking on manager duties. Though the pair didn’t reunite in the show’s finale, they announced they were back together last July, earning congratulations from fans.
His debut holds special meaning: it marks the moment Seo chooses his own path again after once putting love first.
Fans are rallying behind his long-awaited fresh start. In March, the couple appeared together on KBS’s "Immortal Songs" and shared that they’re preparing for marriage―adding even more anticipation for what’s ahead, both personally and professionally.
