"Tempest" follows Moon-ju (Jun Ji-hyun), a renowned UN ambassador who starts chasing the conspiracy behind an assassination attempt on a presidential candidate. Assigned to protect her is San-ho (Gang Dong-won), a shadowy operative with no country. Together, they close in on a truth big enough to rattle the Korean Peninsula ― with Episodes 4 and 5 arriving Sept. 17.
The newly released stills hint at escalating threats against Moon-ju, San-ho’s decision to stay glued to her side, and a romance that’s getting harder to deny as the pair edges closer to a secret with world-shaking stakes.
As danger mounts, San-ho steps in with full-time protection ― telling Moon-ju, “I need you to be someone no one can touch.” Even after he saves her life more than once, Moon-ju keeps her guard up: “I still don’t fully trust you, Baek San-ho.” With attacks continuing, the two move in lockstep and start to truly see each other ― and the air between Moon-ju and Baek San-ho shifts. He’s ready to throw himself into the fire to keep her safe, while she barrels toward the truth. Their fraught push-pull ― caught between doubt and trust ― sets the stage for a major turning point and a global case of fluttering hearts.
Elsewhere, Chang-hee (Joo Jong-hyuk) uncovers what Jun-ik (Park Hae-joon) has been hiding and is hit by a mysterious “accident.” Moon-ju, San-ho, and Mi-ji (Lee Sang-hee) join forces to track the power pulling the strings. With the specter of war spreading over the peninsula, Moon-ju declares, “In no scenario would I choose war,” vowing to expose the flimsy pretext driving a conflict with no clear face. And a pensive U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Anderson Miller (John Cho) suggests an explosive secret is still waiting to drop ― and that the conspiracy runs deeper than anyone thinks.
"Tempest" is rolling out two episodes each week, with a total of nine episodes on tap ― including today’s Episodes 4 and 5.
