Kim Jong-kook is celebrating his 30th debut anniversary with back-to-back good news. Fresh off a private wedding to a non-celebrity, the veteran singer has now sold out his commemorative concerts, underscoring his enduring star power.
Kim will stage a solo concert, “The Originals,” on Oct. 18 and 19 at Blue Square SOL Travel Hall in Yongsan, Seoul. Tickets opened Sept. 15 and both nights sold out in a flash, reaffirming his formidable ticket draw.
The career-spanning show will retrace his 30-year journey, from Turbo-era smashes to solo staples. Special staging and guest appearances are in the works as a thank-you to fans who’ve stayed by his side over the years.
“I am who I am because of the fans who have been with me for 30 years,” Kim said. “This concert will be a festival we create together.”
The promoter added, “Kim’s cross-generational catalog and sincere performance will be a memorable gift for fans,” noting that additional dates in other cities are under review following the swift sellout.
Debuting with Turbo in 1995, Kim delivered hits like “Black Cat Nero” and “Love Is...” before launching a successful solo career marked by fan favorites such as “One Man” and “Lovable.”
On Sept. 5, he held a private wedding with his non-celebrity partner, celebrating the milestone with well-wishing colleagues from the industry.
