Nana Returns to Music with First Solo Album in 16 Years

Nana, the actor and member of After School, is making her return to music with her first-ever solo album―16 years after her debut.

Nana will release The 1st Album “Seventh Heaven 16” on Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. KST, marking the start of a new chapter as a solo artist.

After breaking out with After School in 2009―then turning pop on its head with the delightfully offbeat sub-unit Orange Caramel―Nana quickly became a fixture for razor-sharp performance and trendsetting style.

She pivoted to acting with 2016’s "The Good Wife" and has since built a steady screen career across films and dramas including "The Swindlers," "Kill It," "Oh My Ladylord," "Mask Girl," "Omniscient Reader" and more.

With this release, Nana aims to unveil a fresh musical identity and reaffirm her range as an artist without limits. All eyes are on what she chooses to say―and sing―on a solo project arriving 16 years into her career as an established actor.

Titled “Seventh Heaven 16,” the album nods to the highest of seven heavens―a metaphor for peak happiness―while tracing Nana’s 16-year journey. It’s positioned as an honest record of her voice and sensibility today.

Signaling her comeback, Nana dropped a teaser poster for “Seventh Heaven 16” on Sept. 8 via her official social channels, hinting at a singular concept and mood only she can pull off.

In the image, she stuns in a ballet-inspired look and a long, sleek ponytail, eyes closed in profile―elegant yet cool. A dramatic shadow cast behind her heightens the intrigue, setting the tone for a bold solo entrance.

The release date carries extra meaning: Sept. 14 is also Nana’s birthday. The album doubles as a celebratory gift to fans who’ve been waiting for her return to the stage―making the moment all the more special.
