Actor Jung Il-woo is making a strategic move behind the camera, joining the investment team for the feature "Together".
Industry chatter picked up after word spread that Jung had backed the international title "Together", a body-horror romance about a long-term couple who, after moving, confront the limits of their relationship as their bodies begin to literally fuse. The film opened in Korea on Sept. 3 and has already drawn more than 30,000 admissions.
On why he chose "Together" as his first investment, Jung said, “By blending romance with body horror, the film asks bold questions about the nature of love and connection. Its striking message and inventive approach felt like the right statement for J1’s first investment.”

Starting with "Together", Jung plans to continue championing fresh, distinctive films for Korean moviegoers as an investor. He follows a path blazed by So Ji-sub, who has broadened the local arthouse slate with discerning picks like "Attila Marcel," "Midsommar," "Hereditary," "The Zone of Interest," and "The Substance"―the latter becoming 2024’s top-grossing foreign indie art film in Korea with 560,000 admissions. With Jung now putting his weight behind "Together", fans are eager to see what he backs next.
Jung made his debut in 2006 with the MBC sitcom "High Kick!" and has steadily won over audiences on both the big and small screens with a range of charismatic performances.
He currently leads KBS2’s weekend drama "Our Golden Days" as Lee Ji-hyeok, driving the show to No. 1 in its time slot. He also stars in the Korea-Vietnam co-production "Leaving Mom", a box-office hit in Vietnam that has boosted his global profile―and even earned him “national son-in-law” status among local fans.
