Actress Lee Si-young is lacing up for a race―even at eight months pregnant.
On Aug. 28, Lee shared on social media, “I’m flying to Sydney today,” announcing she’ll enter the 2025 Sydney Marathon. “I’ve stayed diligent with prenatal workouts―especially strengthening my lower body. I’ve kept up my runs, got my OB-GYN’s green light, and my conditioning coach is coming with me,” she wrote.
Looking back on her first pregnancy with son Jung-yoon, Lee noted she even raced up to the half-marathon distance―three times in total. “This time I’m sticking to the 10K and keeping it light,” she added, saying she plans to turn the trip into a quick getaway with Jung-yoon and teased some travel looks.
Earlier this year, Lee finalized her divorce in mediation and has been raising her first son on her own. She later made headlines after revealing she became pregnant with her second child by implanting a frozen embryo from her marriage. “While my former partner did not consent, I will bear full responsibility for the decision,” she said at the time. “I’m simply grateful for this new life, and I’m more peaceful and happy than ever,” as she geared up for delivery.
Unusually for an actor, Lee was once tapped for South Korea’s national boxing team. She retired from competition in 2015 due to a shoulder injury.
