Cast members from Netflix’s original dating reality series “Better Late than Single” opened up about how their relationships have changed since the show wrapped―and what was really on their minds.

The Aug. 20 episode of the YouTube series “Jung Kyu-min’s 'Better Late than Single' Talk” featured guests Ji-su, Yeo-myeong, and Min-hong from the Netflix hit.

The show checked in on Ji-su and Seung-li, who left “Better Late than Single” as a final couple. When host Jung Kyu-min carefully asked whether they’d become a real-life couple, Ji-su replied, “We didn’t end up dating after the show.”

Ji-su also shared the mindset she took into filming: “I went in determined. Even during counseling, I said I wanted to see it through to a real outcome. Quitting was never an option―I didn’t want to feel like I was running away. Even if it was just for a day, I wanted to come out and actually try dating. It just didn’t work out.”

The episode also revisited some of Hyun-kyu’s most memorable lines.

Ji-su chose, “No one’s coming tonight―so pour me a glass of solitude.” The now-iconic moment unfolded at a bar in Jeju, where, after Ji-su didn’t show, Hyun-kyu laid bare his loneliness to the bartender―one of viewers’ most replayed scenes.

Another line that drew both laughs and tears: “I loved you a lot, Kang Ji-su.” Reflecting on it, Ji-su said, “Hyun-kyu wasn’t trying to be funny―you could feel the sincerity. It came through beyond the cameras. He’s someone who brings genuine feeling every time.”

“Better Late than Single” follows young men and women with zero dating experience as they step into their “dating debuts,” winning over audiences with unfiltered sincerity and heart.
