Trot singer Choi Suho is putting fandom power to work for good, teaming up with his official fan club Subangsa (short for Suho Defense Command) to keep the charitable momentum going.
On the 18th, Choi and Subangsa donated 19,492,018 won to Seoul National University Children’s Hospital. It marks their second straight year of giving, following last year’s 22,989,894 won, for a two-year total of 42,481,912 won.
This year’s drive began around Choi’s July 1 birthday, when fans kicked off a grassroots fundraiser. Moved by Subangsa’s heartfelt campaign, Choi joined in, and the funds will help cover treatment costs for pediatric patients from underserved communities.
Through his agency Four Go Entertainment, Choi shared, “I’m thrilled to be able to give back with my fans again this year. I’ll work even harder so we can do something even more meaningful next year.”
Subangsa’s steady community work has also drawn attention. In 2023, the fan club donated 3 million won to the Jusarang Community Baby Box and provided 2,400 coal briquettes to the Love Briquette Sharing Daegu branch, volunteering on site as well. Last year, they donated and delivered 2,500 briquettes, made a 5 million won Hometown Love Donation to Goheung County in South Jeolla―Choi’s father’s hometown―and pitched in with environmental cleanups at the local yuzu festival. They closed out the year by donating sanitary pads and daily essentials to women in need.
Meanwhile, Choi is staying busy on the road, connecting with fans across the country through the 2025 Active Singer King 2 nationwide tour.
