Park Ji-yeon, who appeared on the Netflix dating reality 'Better Late than Single', opened up about how tough the post-show hate was―and the unbreakable bond she shares with her castmates.

Joining Song Da-hye’s YouTube channel on the 19th, Park said, “Not only while filming 'Better Late than Single', but even after the show ended, we all met two or three times a week to check in on each other,” adding, “I got through it because I had them.”

She also expressed deep gratitude to Yi Do, with whom she formed a love triangle over Ha Jeong-mok on the show. “I only realized later, watching the broadcast, that Yi Do cried,” Park recalled. “It broke my heart, so I texted her, asking, ‘Why were you crying so much?’ She told me, ‘We weren’t really talking then, so there wasn’t even room for misunderstandings,’ which brought us closer. And when the comments got nasty, she’d say, ‘Ji-yeon, don’t read that stuff,’ and only told me things that lifted me up.”

Park admitted it wasn’t easy to lay bare her personal history on camera. But after the show, she was touched by a flood of messages from viewers saying, “I’m in a similar situation, and your courage helped me.”

She also spoke about the cast’s tight-knit friendship. “Maybe because we weathered the same storm during the broadcast, our bond grew even deeper,” she said. “We still meet up often, share our worries, and cheer each other on.”

A songwriter by trade, Park shared her dream of releasing her own album.

“Like the other cast members, I've ‘never-dated,’ but there are so many impressive people who have ‘never-dated’.” Park said. “A lot of us were just focused on our work. I hope people start to see ‘never-dated people’ as folks who’ve been loving and investing in themselves―and who simply haven’t met the right person yet.”
