Comedian and TV host Park Mi-sun remains on an extended break for health reasons, and her friends in the industry are rallying around her.

On Aug. 18, fellow comedian Jo Hye-ryeon appeared on MBC Radio’s "Two O'Clock Date with Ahn Young-mi" and grew emotional while talking about Park.

“Mi-sun isn’t active on social media right now, so I couldn’t exactly ask her to promote my new single,” Jo said. “But she quietly cheered me on by taking an old photo from our trip to Israel and setting my song ‘Broken Time Machine’ to it. That clip racked up 6 million views.”

She continued, “People have been wondering how Mi-sun is doing, and that video both got my song out there and reminded everyone to send their love her way. I pray for her every day. I’m waiting for the day we’re back on a theater stage together,” she added, tearing up.

That same day, DJ Ahn Young-mi shared a hopeful note: “I recently dreamed that Park Mi-sun appeared and smiled at me. I believe in dreams, so I think good news is coming.”

Earlier, TV personality Lee Kyung-sil also signaled her support for Park on social media.

“I made watermelon mul-kimchi to drop off for my friend,” she wrote. “Honestly, it’s an excuse―I miss her so much.” She added, “So many people are praying for you. Don’t feel alone―just focus on your health,” sending a heartfelt message.

Park stepped away from all TV activities earlier this year. As speculation about her health grew, her agency Cube Entertainment said in February that she is taking time off to rest, is not battling a severe illness, and plans to return once she’s sufficiently recovered.

Amid the outpouring of support, Park has shared small updates on her own social channels. Recently, she posted that a Bible guidebook gifted by Jo was “such a fun read,” offering a glimpse of her upbeat day-to-day.

Park, who debuted in 1988 as part of MBC’s comedian intake, rose to fame across TV shows and sitcoms, becoming one of Korea’s most beloved MCs. She married fellow comedian Lee Bong-won in 1993, and they have a son and a daughter.
