Singer and TV personality Kim Jong-kook, 49, is officially off the market. The star marked a major life milestone in the same year he celebrates his 30th debut anniversary.

On the 18th, Kim posted a handwritten letter on his fan cafe to share the news. “I always figured a day would come when I’d write this,” he said, “but actually putting it down has me more nervous and excited than I imagined.”

“I’m getting married,” he continued. “It’s my 30th year since debut―I didn’t make the album I wanted this year, but I did find my other half. It may be later than most, but I’m grateful to be heading into this chapter. Please send your congratulations and support.”

He added that the wedding will take place soon in a small, private ceremony with family and close friends. “Thanks to your constant support, I’m able to get married and take on a new challenge in life. I’ll work even harder,” he told fans.

That same day, Kim also shared the news while filming SBS’s "Running Man."

During a shoot in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, he gently dropped the announcement during the opening segment, catching the cast and guest stars Jang Dong-yoon and Kim Ah-young completely off guard. Some members first suspected a hidden-camera prank, but once they realized he was serious, they broke into applause.

Back in April, news broke that Kim had purchased a luxury home measuring 243 square meters (about 2,615 square feet) for 6.2 billion won in cash, fueling speculation that he was preparing a newlywed nest.
