On the August 10th broadcast of SBS's 'My Little Old Boy', Heo Kyung-hwan and HeeChul were seen organizing a surprise birthday party for their fathers.
In the episode, the duo prepared a birthday celebration for their fathers, who share birthdays just a day apart. They decided to personally cook a meal for them.
They planned the entire event as a surprise and sought help from actor Lee Dong-gun's father, asking him to invite their fathers under the pretense of treating them for his birthday.
While Lee Dong-gun's father was spending time with the fathers, the two sons were busy preparing the meal. Heo Kyung-hwan, with his skilled cooking, made a dish of cockles, a favorite of his father.
Heo Kyung-hwan's father was pleasantly surprised, saying, "This is something you find a lot in Tongyeong," and thoroughly enjoyed the meal prepared by his son.
Next, HeeChul served a traditional Gangwon-do grilled soft tofu dish. HeeChul's father was impressed, commenting, "This is really delicious," bringing a proud smile to HeeChul's face.
Finally, HeeChul's seaweed soup and side dishes made by both of their mothers were served. Everyone held their breath to see if the husbands would recognize their wives' cooking.
Heo Kyung-hwan's father immediately recognized the taste, saying, "This tastes exactly like my wife's cooking," correctly guessing it was made by his spouse.
However, HeeChul's father remained clueless until the end, enjoying the cucumber kimchi made by his wife, which brought laughter to everyone.
After enjoying dessert, the three men moved to the rooftop for the final event.
Sitting in chairs at the end of a path lined with flowers, a monitor turned on displaying images of the fathers in their youth, created by AI.
Both fathers and sons were visibly moved, fighting back tears. Then, the sons appeared with a banner carrying a congratulatory message and took a commemorative photo with their fathers.
The fathers were deeply touched by their sons' surprise party. Especially HeeChul's father, who said, "Seeing my son brings tears to my eyes," drawing attention with his emotional response.
