Actor Lee Byung-hun is set to receive a Special Tribute Award at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

The Toronto Film Festival announced on its website on the 5th the four recipients of the 'TIFF Tribute Awards'. Lee Byung-hun was named alongside Mexican director Guillermo del Toro, Japanese filmmaker HIKARI, and American actress Jodie Foster.

The festival stated, "This year's honorees have left indelible marks on the film industry. We are thrilled to celebrate Lee Byung-hun's overwhelming talent, Guillermo del Toro's vision and imagination, HIKARI's emotional storytelling, and Jodie Foster's unparalleled career."

Lee Byung-hun was praised as a "global star who has achieved significant success in both Korean and Hollywood films and series."

The TIFF Special Tribute Award is presented to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the global film industry.

Lee Byung-hun's latest project, 'No Other Choice', directed by Park Chan-wook, has also been invited to the Toronto International Film Festival. In addition to receiving the Special Tribute Award, Lee Byung-hun will visit Toronto to align with the screening schedule of 'No Other Choice'. This film will have its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival opening on the 27th, with its North American debut at TIFF.

'No Other Choice' tells the story of 'Man-soo' (played by Lee Byung-hun), a content office worker who suddenly finds himself laid off. To protect his wife and two children, save his hard-earned home, and prepare for his own battle towards reemployment, Man-soo embarks on a desperate struggle to secure a new job.
