2PM WOOYOUNG has made a comeback with his solo track 'Simple Dance' after a hiatus of 7 years and 5 months, taking the stage once again. Breaking his long silence, he recently shared a candid interview along with a photoshoot in the August issue of @star1 magazine.
WOOYOUNG revealed his attachment to the solo track, saying, "When I first presented it to the company five years ago, it was outright rejected. Despite that, I kept pushing this song for the next five years." He added with a laugh, "The company must have thought, 'WOOYOUNG won't come back unless it's with this song,' and eventually, they gave the green light."
He expressed, "I didn't want to make a loud comeback saying, 'Hey, everyone! I'm back!'" He preferred to pursue music that felt true to himself rather than following trends. 'Simple Dance' encapsulates WOOYOUNG's lethal charm and signature performance style.

He also spoke about his 20-year journey with JYP Entertainment. "I never considered any other option. I've been with JYP my entire singing career, and I trust the company as much as they trust me," he shared, highlighting his unwavering loyalty to the agency.
Regarding J.Y. Park's reaction, WOOYOUNG shared, "J.Y. Park was actually a bit disappointed. He wished I had gone for something more trendy and powerful in my dance." However, he added, "I think J.Y. Park totally owned this year's Water Bomb. Maintaining that energy and stamina is truly admirable."
WOOYOUNG also hinted at a full 2PM group activity soon. "The time for 2PM isn't far off. It's quite near," he said, promising a good timing for their return.
Lastly, he described his current state as "still around 5 or 6 in the morning, in the middle of sleeping," and ambitiously stated, "My prime hasn't even started yet."
Meanwhile, WOOYOUNG's diverse charms and deeper interviews can be found in the August issue of @star1 magazine.
