Actor Jo Bok-rae attended the opening ceremony of the 24th New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF) with the team of the movie "The Informant" (literal translation).

On July 11th (local time), at the Walter Reade Theater in New York's Lincoln Center, Jo Bok-rae walked the red carpet, receiving a warm welcome from the press and fans. Following the red carpet, a Q&A session was held with director Kim Seok, actors Heo Sung-tae, Seo Min-ju, and producer Han Sung-gu, where they shared insights about the film and engaged in meaningful conversations with the audience.

"The Informant", starring Jo Bok-rae, is a comedic buddy movie and a crime action film that follows the unlikely cooperation between a bumbling but earnest detective (Heo Sung-tae) and a competent, savvy informant. The film made a strong first impression on North American audiences as the opening film of the New York Asian Film Festival.

In the film, Jo Bok-rae plays the quick-witted and resourceful informant 'Jo Tae-bong', showcasing his solid acting skills. The character struggles to recover his lost fortune, leading to a dynamic 'buddy play' with Heo Sung-tae that promises to captivate audiences.

The organizers of the New York Asian Film Festival selected "The Informant" as the opening film, citing its perfect embodiment of this year's festival theme, "Cinema as Disruption". They praised the film for its unique style that freely crosses genre boundaries, its world premiere screening, and the attendance of the director and actors, highlighting its significance and buzzworthiness as an opening film.
