Brad Pitt's latest film, 'F1', has clinched the top spot at the box office for the second day in a row.
According to the Film Promotion Committee's integrated computer network for movie ticket sales, 'F1' attracted 32,096 viewers nationwide on the 15th, bringing its total audience to 1,464,710.
Having reclaimed the box office crown in its fourth week since release on the 15th, 'F1' did not just enjoy a fleeting moment of glory but maintained its lead for two consecutive days. Its resurgence to the top spot was partly attributed to one of the three major cinema chains, CGV, taking a day off due to system upgrades on the 14th. However, even after CGV resumed operations, 'F1' was the only film to surpass 30,000 daily viewers.
Unlike its success overseas, including in North America, 'F1' has seen a somewhat lukewarm reception in its home market. This is attributed to the relatively low interest in F1 racing and the lack of initial buzz around the film. Nonetheless, with a strong showing in its fourth week, the film is expected to easily surpass the 1.5 million viewer mark.
