Director Kim Byung-woo, who helmed the film 'Omniscient Reader: The Prophet', hinted at the possibility of a sequel.

During a press screening and Q&A session for 'Omniscient Reader: The Prophet' held at COEX Megabox in Seoul on the afternoon of the 15th, Director Kim was asked about the potential for a sequel. He responded, "When we first decided to make this movie and met with the actors, we discussed the story for a sequel. If you look at the script, you can tell there's more to the story. However, whether we make a sequel depends on how much love this movie receives."

The post-credits scene of 'Omniscient Reader: The Prophet' briefly hints at what could come next. Given the vastness of the original work, the movie has great potential for expansion. Yet, as Director Kim Byung-woo mentioned, the decision to produce a sequel to this blockbuster, which cost 30 billion won, hinges on the success of the first film. The break-even point for the movie is around 6 million viewers.
Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint

'Omniscient Reader: The Prophet' is a fantasy action film where the world of a novel, which has been serialized for over a decade, becomes reality on the day it concludes. The story follows 'Kim Dokja', the novel's sole reader, who, along with the novel's protagonist 'Yoo Joonghyuk' and their allies, strives to survive in the now apocalyptic world. The film stars Ahn Hyo-seop, Lee Min-ho, Chae Soo-bin, and Ji Soo.

As one of this summer's most anticipated Korean films, it is set to premiere on July 23.
