The YouTube channel 'Hover Lab' proceeded with a broadcast related to actor Kim Soo-hyun despite a court's temporary stalking injunction, leading to a police intervention.
On the evening of June 13th, around 7 PM, police were dispatched to the Hover Lab's office located in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. This action was taken following reports from citizens who were watching the live broadcast and raised concerns about a potential violation of the court's decision.
The issue arose when the Hover Lab used Kim Soo-hyun's name and face in the thumbnail for the upcoming live broadcast, which citizens interpreted as a violation of the court-ordered stalking prohibition measures, prompting them to report to the police.
Upon arrival at the scene, the police notified the representatives of the Hover Lab about the related measures and issued a verbal warning before departing. When the press inquired about the specific content of the warning, the police stated they could not provide confirmation.
During the broadcast, Kim Se-ui, the head of the institute, mentioned the police visit and expressed his dissatisfaction.
He claimed, "The police rang the doorbell and interrupted us during the live broadcast. This is a clear suppression of the press."
Previously, on April 23rd, the Seoul Central District Court had issued a temporary injunction ordering Kim Se-ui to cease stalking activities against Kim Soo-hyun. Although Kim Se-ui appealed the decision, the court rejected it.
Since March, Kim Se-ui had been making allegations that Kim Soo-hyun had dated the late Kim Sae-ron during her minor years. In response, Kim Soo-hyun denied these claims and filed charges against Kim Se-ui and others from the Hover Lab for violations of the Stalking Punishment Act, defamation, and violations of the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, along with filing a lawsuit for damages amounting to approximately 12 billion won.
Recently, Kim Soo-hyun's side has proceeded with the seizure of real estate and sponsorship accounts belonging to Kim Se-ui and the Hover Lab corporation.
On the other hand, Kim Se-ui held a press conference claiming to have obtained a voice recording of the late Kim Sae-ron from an acquaintance in New Jersey, USA. Meanwhile, the bereaved family has continued their legal battle by filing charges against Kim Soo-hyun for violations of the Child Welfare Act.
