BTS members JIMIN and JUNGKOOK have completed their 18-month military service and returned to their beloved fans, ARMY.
Appearing at a discharge ceremony held on the morning of June 11th at a sports field in Yeoncheon-eup, Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do, JIMIN and JUNGKOOK greeted everyone energetically, showcasing slightly fuller cheeks and more robust physiques. The duo enlisted together in December 2023 as active-duty soldiers and served in the 5th Artillery Brigade of the Army.
Greeted by the cheers of fans, the two saluted and said, "Thank you for coming all this way. It's been a while since we've been in front of cameras, so it feels a bit awkward. We're not sure what to say." showing a bashful side.
JIMIN also shared his feelings about being discharged, "It feels like we're on leave. We're grateful to everyone who waited for our discharge. We want to continue painting the picture we've been working on and will prepare to show you an even better side of us."
Both expressed their gratitude for the military experience, saying it made them appreciate soldiers more.
JUNGKOOK expressed his thanks, "I'm grateful to everyone who suffered with us." Similarly, JIMIN shared, "Living and suffering together made us grow close. If you see soldiers on the street, a warm word or two would be much appreciated."
Following the lead of JIN and J-HOPE, who have already been discharged and resumed their activities, RM and V were discharged on the previous day. With SUGA set to be discharged from his alternative service on the 21st, all BTS members will have completed their military duties.
