"From Picture-Perfect to 'Scam Marriage'?" Song Jae-hee ♥ Ji So-yeon Rock 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2'
You're My Destiny
SBS television show "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 – You Are My Destiny" has maintained its No.1 spot among variety programs airing in the same time slot in the key 2049 demographic, thanks in part to the debut of actor couple Song Jae-hee and Ji So-yeon.

The June 9 episode recorded a 1.2% rating among viewers aged 20–49 in the Seoul metropolitan area, according to Nielsen Korea, showing a rise from the previous week. The episode’s peak minute rating even reached 4.3%.

Making their first appearance on the show, Song Jae-hee and Ji So-yeon, now in their ninth year of marriage, drew attention with their candid dynamic. Right from the start, Song commented, “We often post updates on social media, but those are carefully curated by Ji So-yeon. There’s manipulation involved—it’s all a front,” he joked, shocking the cast. Comedian Kim Sook quipped, “Sounds like you’ve been bottling things up,” sparking laughter.

Song, who famously announced his wedding to Ji on SBS's Law of the Jungle, married her just three months into dating. After being diagnosed with infertility, the couple welcomed their first daughter five years into the marriage. They recently revealed they’re now expecting twins, prompting heartfelt congratulations from viewers and cast alike.

The episode also revealed surprising details about their daily life. Contrary to assumptions, Ji clarified that she isn’t financially reliant on her husband, saying, “People think I live off my husband because I haven’t been acting much lately, but I’m actually the CEO of an ad agency now in its third year.” She said she launched the business with zero capital and has since grown it into a 1 billion won operation. Song admitted, “I’ve seen firsthand how much she earns. I truly respect her—she’s incredible. She’s my role model. I’m basically her loyal servant,” earning laughs.

Ji is now looking to expand into real estate, including motel leasing. Song supports her closely, even chauffeuring her around. One standout moment was when his flashy supercar appeared on-screen—only to be revealed as a gift from Ji. Commentator Seo Jang-hoon laughed, “Now I see why he’s so devoted to her.”

However, the sweet couple dynamic shifted after a business meeting. Song expressed frustration with Ji’s tone, saying, “Could you speak a little more nicely? It sounds like you’re giving orders.” Ji responded, “He’s hypersensitive, which leads to a lot of hurt feelings.”

In a more serious moment, Ji shocked everyone by calling their marriage a “scam.” She explained, “There were so many things he didn’t want me to do. I held on for three years before I burned out. I even prayed that we could be legally separated.” She shared that during her eight-month mission trip to New Zealand, living alone brought her true happiness.

Song, visibly remorseful, reflected, “I used to think all the bickering and struggles were just part of life. But after she came back from New Zealand and said that, it really hit me. That’s when I realized I needed to change.”

Meanwhile, the next episode of "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2", airing Monday, June 16 at 10:10 p.m., will feature the cruise ship wedding of Choi Yeo-jin and Kim Jae-wook.
