Yook Sung-jae has opted for a human life.

In the latest episode of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'The Haunted Palace', viewers were treated to the blissful lives of Kang Cheol and Yeori, who resolved the grudges of all and lived happily ever after.

Kang Cheol sacrificed himself to annihilate the eight-tailed ghost. Meanwhile, Yeori performed a ritual to appease the spirits of the eight-tailed ghost and the people of Yongdam Village, burdened with grudges.

In a heartfelt moment, Lee Jeong declared, "I will never forget this moment until the day I die. I will dedicate my everything to ensure no one suffers from such deep-seated grudges again. I sincerely apologize to you all," shedding tears of remorse.

After losing the luminous pearl, Kang Cheol felt he had lost everything. To the grieving Yeori, Monk Gaseop consoled, "Perhaps it's all part of a divine plan. The heavens might have sent the dragon, originally destined to ascend, back to earth to save the pitiful people of Yongdam Village. Maybe, this was Kang Cheol's destiny all along."

As the three-day mourning period for Kang Cheol ended and his coffin was being sealed, he miraculously woke up. Yeori and Younggeum were overjoyed, shedding tears of happiness.

Kang Cheol shared his heroic tale with Lee Jeong. He said the Jade Emperor felt sorry for him and brought him back to life, asking him, "Do you wish to ascend as a dragon, or would you rather live among humans? The choice is yours."

To this, Lee Jeong asked, "So, you chose to live with us?" Kang Cheol replied, "Who else but you? I came back to live with Yeori," and went off to find her.

Kang Cheol, now Lee Jeong's only friend, married Yeori and they even had a daughter, embracing a joyous human life in a happy ending.
