The movie 'Hi-FIVE' has dethroned 'Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning' to claim the top spot at the weekend box office.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network for movie ticket sales, 'Hi-FIVE' attracted 383,334 viewers nationwide from May 30 to June 1. The cumulative audience count stands at 395,505.

Making its debut in first place on its opening day, May 30, by surpassing 'Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning,' 'Hi-FIVE' continued its strong performance over the weekend. However, the total weekend audience was a close race, with only a 10,000 viewer difference from 'Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning,' leaving room for a potential shift in rankings due to the upcoming Election Day holiday.

'Hi-FIVE' tells the comic action-packed story of five individuals who, after undergoing organ transplants, accidentally gain unique superpowers and encounter those who seek to exploit their abilities. Directed by Kang Hyung-chul, known for his box office hits 'Speed Scandal' and 'Sunny,' this marks his first work in seven years and has garnered anticipation with a cast featuring Lee Jae-in, Ahn Jae-hong, Yoo Ah-in, Ra Mi-ran, Kim Hee-won, and Oh Jung-se.

As 'Hi-FIVE' showcases the potential of Korean-style superhero movies, interest is growing to see if it can maintain its momentum during the upcoming holiday period, which includes Election Day and Memorial Day.

Meanwhile, 'Big Deal,' which was released on the same day, debuted in third place, attracting 131,646 viewers over three days.
