Actress Park Minyoung is set to meet global audiences through Amazon Prime Video.
According to the production company High Ground on the 26th, Park Minyoung will star in Amazon Prime Video's first Korean original drama, tentatively titled 'The Confidence Man KR'.
'The Confidence Man KR' is a riveting tale of three highly skilled con artists taking on villains from various sectors of society. Park Minyoung will play the role of Yoon Yi-rang, the genius leader of the group with a top 1% intellect.
The production company stated, "'The Confidence Man KR' will present a new 'K-Caper' genre with its exciting storyline that cleverly exploits the loopholes in the social system, and a fresh take on the crime genre with a delightful twist."
'The Confidence Man KR' marks Amazon Prime Video's first foray into Korean dramas. Previously, Korean dramas on the channel were only accessible through a separate Korean drama section, not as original content.
Park Minyoung previously garnered much love from the platform's users with 'Marry My Husband'. The drama topped charts in Europe, the US, and South America upon its release and continued to rank in the TOP10 even a year after its conclusion.
High Ground commented, "Park Minyoung's leading role in an Amazon original drama not only marks a milestone for the actress herself but also sets a new benchmark in the history of K-content."
'The Confidence Man KR' began filming in September 2024 and has recently completed shooting all 12 episodes. It is scheduled to air in the second half of 2025.
