The domestic animation 'The King of Kings' has surpassed $60 million in cumulative box office revenue in North America, showcasing the power of K-animation.

According to Box Office Mojo, 'The King of Kings' had amassed $63 million in North American box office revenue as of 7 PM local time on May 22, creating a global box office legend.

Not only did 'The King of Kings' secure the second spot in the North American box office in its opening week, but it also surpassed the final North American earnings of the movie 'Parasite' within just 17 days, becoming the highest-grossing film in North America among movies produced solely in Korea.

Made entirely with domestic technology and capital, the remarkable K-animation 'The King of Kings' was directed by Jang Sung-ho, the head of CG/VFX company Mopac Studio, who brought over 30 years of expertise to the screenplay and direction, culminating in a production period of 10 years. This effort has drawn strong responses from North American audiences, as evidenced by a 98% Rotten Tomatoes popcorn score and an A+ CinemaScore.

North American audiences have raved, "Amazing. A truly great movie that satisfied both kids and adults alike!" 'The King of Kings' will have a special screening on June 1st at 3 PM (local time) at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., a national cultural center and a leading institution for performing arts in the United States, known for hosting traditional art performances such as opera, ballet, and classical music. The screening of 'The King of Kings' at the Kennedy Center holds special significance, symbolizing the exceptional achievements of Korean animation following its high box office success and warm reception in North America.

Continuing its hot streak with over $60 million in North American box office revenue, 'The King of Kings' is currently being shown in 50 countries worldwide and is expected to reach audiences in about 90 countries by the end of 2025. It is scheduled for a theatrical release in Korea this summer.
