IU Donates 200 Million Won on Her Birthday, Spreading Generosity Through Four Organizations

Singer and actress IU celebrated her birthday on May 16th by once again sharing her warm heart.

Her agency, EDAM Entertainment, announced, "In celebration of her birthday, IU has donated a total of 200 million won, 50 million won to each of four organizations, under the name 'IUAENA' (IU + UAENA)." The donations will support underprivileged families, elderly living alone, youths preparing for independence, single-parent families, and people with disabilities within the country.

The donations were made to 'Hope Pebble', 'Child Rights Protection Agency', 'Happy Giver', and 'Warm Companion', and will be used for a wide range of purposes including ▲livelihood support for impoverished families and the elderly living alone, ▲funding for social settlement costs for youths preparing for independence, ▲support for living expenses, medical treatment, and education for single-parent families, ▲welfare space and advanced assistive devices for people with disabilities.

IU has consistently used her platform for good, making donations under the name 'IUAENA' on meaningful occasions such as her debut anniversary, her birthday, and the holiday season. In March, she donated 200 million won to support victims of a major wildfire in the Gyeongsang region and to improve the welfare of firefighters. On Children's Day, she contributed 150 million won to support children and teenagers, continuing her practice of warm-hearted giving.

Meanwhile, IU is set to release her third remake album on the 27th, her first in eight years, and is preparing to shoot her next drama, 21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife' (literal translation).
